Mary Martha Thrift Shop

Mary Martha Thrift Shop located at 9 West Koenig street, Wentzville, Missouri, has served our local community for over three decades by offering donated goods to the public at a very low cost. Many low-income and needy families in our area have come to depend on Mary Martha for their clothing and household goods. First Baptist Church, Lake St. Louis is one of 7 local churches that staff this facility through volunteers. Each of the participating churches receives a quarterly financial contribution from Mary Martha earmarked for benevolence.  This money is used solely to help families in our community in financial need. Mary Martha also provides financial gifts from its sales to other non-profit agencies in our community that minister to families in need. Families in urgent need may also qualify for a grant to receive free clothing and household needs from Mary Martha. Please contact the office of First Baptist Church for referrals.

We continually need volunteers for this ministry. We are only required to staff once every 7 weeks. On the week that we staff, we work Tuesday, Thursday, and one half day on Saturday. We run two shifts each day, so volunteers can work half days if desired. We need to have 10 volunteers per shift in order to run smoothly and not overburden the workers. This past year we have lost some of our senior workers. Several are just no longer able to physically do the work. It is essential to this ministry that we bring in some new workers.
