Shoutfest FAQ
Why are there so many churches involved?
There are a ton of great events out there like that attract 1000s of people to one location. We believe that is great and are even involved in many of those. But, follow up for those events is often times limited, and those events may not attract the large numbers of "unchurched" youth who may show up on-site to a Shoutfest. Our main goal is to glorify Christ by reaching those who don't know Jesus and by challenging those that do.
Which church should my group go to?
There are benefits to each location, for every format will be a little bit different and unique to its own facility. I suggest that each youth leader take their group to the site that is closest to them. At every Shoutfest, Jesus will be glorified and the gospel message will be preached regardless of church affiliation or denomination.
Which Christian bands are playing?
This will vary depending on the church. Therefore, reach the contact person in charge of each location. If you are a Christian band looking to play, feel free to either contact the host of each location or youth pastor Tom Papez at tompapez@hotmail.com.
Are there any hidden costs?
No. The $5 covers all the food, activities, and events. Bands are welcome to sell CDs, but that would be the only additional cost. Each church will most likely lose money on the event. Adults are FREE. And if any children come with their parents, those children are also FREE.
Do you need chaperones?
Yes and No. Yes, we will need adults on hand to help assist in keeping order. What role each adult will play will demand on the location. In the past, adults have enjoyed a fun night playing with their youth while acting responsibly within their own areas. The goal of each location is to run the event themselves, and for all visiting adults to have an enjoyable time.
Why should I attend a Shoutfest?
There are certain times in the course of the year that youth are just ready to give their lives to the Lord. In our opinion, the month of September is one of those. After all, a new school year is beginning and youth often times feel like they also have a new beginning. The "Saw You at the Pole" Rallies have wisely taken advantage of that. But what night of the year is the best night for starting over or for looking ahead? You guessed it. It's New Year's Eve.
